Laxton the last open field farming system in the country with a working Court Leet and Jury. At most times of the year we can arrange for you to have a private guided tour of this fascinating and unique place. Alternatively, how about a private talk about the unique farming system in your holiday home? Please ask for details.
Newark historic market town with Civil War history, River Trent cruises, Newark showground and wide range of shops, coffee houses and dining
Southwell with it's famous Minster, the Workhouse (owned by the National Trust) and interesting shopping
Sherwood Forest with the Major Oak, Visitor Centre, Craft Centre
'Go Ape' and Sherwood Pines, in the area covered by the ancient Sherwood Forest.
Rufford Park with its abbey, lake, wealth of bird life, walks, gift and craft shops, gallery, events programme and eating opportunities, close to Edwinstowe, site of the Major Oak
Clumber Park, owned by the National Trust, with excellent eating opportunities, wonderful walks, shop and a regular programme of events
Creswell Crags with its great new Visitor Centre and the oldest example of cave art in Britain
Nottingham with big city shopping, theatre, ice rink, castle, caves and much more
Lincoln with its wonderful cathedral area and the famous Steep Hill, castle and boutique shopping
The Derbyshire Dales, including Chatsworth House and several wonderful of National Trust and English Heritage properties, the Blue John Mine and the caves at Castleton plus Bakewell, Buxton and a host of wonderful walks
If your hobby is photography we can offer suggestions for great locations. You may even be fortunate enough to see a steam train on the main line from the property, not to mention the great variety of wildlife which can be seen from the garden.
Interested in horse or dog racing? There is easy access to both at Nottingham and Doncaster.
